# MicoRadar MCP server

Wild mushroom forecast for Spain: where and when each species is likely to fruit.

## Connecting

- `https://micoradar.com/mcp`: Streamable HTTP with an account. The first call is answered 401 with the protected resource metadata; the client registers itself (OAuth 2.1, dynamic client registration) and the person approves the connection on micoradar.com. From then on the account's plan decides what comes back, as on the map.
- No browser to send the person to: https://micoradar.com/auth.md describes registering with their email address instead. They get a 6-digit code by email and read it back to the agent, which trades it for a token.

## Instructions

MicoRadar forecasts wild mushrooms across Spain: for each species, where and when it is likely
to fruit, from the weather, the forest and the records of where it has been found. Answer
questions like "where should I look for boletus this weekend near Madrid" or "is it worth going
to the Sierra de la Demanda on Saturday".

**The yield index** runs from 0 to 100; read it in classes: under 5 very weak, 5–12 weak,
12–22 moderate, 22–35 good, 35 and over excellent. It is a likelihood that the conditions are
right, not a promise of mushrooms. The classes are set on the area scores (best-areas and the
outlooks), which average a square kilometre of mixed ground. forecast-at-point scores a single
28 m stand on the same scale, so among the species' partner trees on good ground it runs higher
than the area around it: 50 and more is common there in a good week. At a point, compare species and
nearby spots with each other rather than reading the class alone. Above 55 the index is
compressed and approaches 100 without reaching it, so a few points up there are a real difference.

**A typical path.** list-species for the slug → best-areas for the comarcas where it is
scoring now → search-places to turn a place name into coordinates → forecast-at-point for a
spot → species-outlook for the days ahead. weekend-outlook answers "what about this weekend"
in one call. get-regulated-zone matters before anyone picks: many forests in Castilla y León
and Navarra are reserves that need a permit.

**Plans.** Without an account (the /mcp/open address) and on the free plan, the answers are
what the map shows for free: every species' best areas, today's scores for the species on the
free tier, the ground and the weather everywhere. Pro adds the precise point scores and the next
15 days for every species, the biotope breakdown, place alerts and 50 saved places. When an
answer says `locked: true`, tell the person what is closed; if they want it, call checkout-link
with the plan they choose and give them its `checkout_url`, a payment page made for their account
(or `upgrade_url`, the subscription page, if they would rather read first). On the open address,
tell them to connect /mcp and sign in. Do not work around a lock by asking other tools the same
question.

**Safety.** Never tell anyone that a mushroom they found is safe to eat, from a description, a
photo or this data. get-species lists the dangerous look-alikes; say that identification needs
the mushroom in hand and someone who knows it. Poisonous species are open on every plan
because where they grow is a safety question.

**Subscribers only, for now.** While MicoRadar is open to assistants on the Pro plan only,
every tool except my-account and checkout-link answers `locked` for an account without Pro. Tell
the person once, offer checkout-link, and do not retry other tools.

Texts come in the language given as `locale` (es, ca, en, ru); pass the conversation's.

## Tools

### list-species

Every species MicoRadar forecasts: slug (what every other tool takes), Latin and common name,
edibility, whether it is dangerous, its season as [first month, last month], and `unlocked` —
whether this caller sees its forecast in full. Poisonous species are open to everybody; most
edible ones are precise and forward-looking only on the Pro plan.

### get-species

One species in full: names (including the folk names used elsewhere in Spain), edibility, a
description, habitat, season, the traits that tell it apart, its look-alikes with the dangerous
ones flagged, what the occurrence records say, and a link to its page. Never tell anyone a
mushroom they found is safe to eat on the strength of this text: identification needs the
mushroom in hand and someone who knows it.

### best-areas

Where a species is scoring best right now, as areas: name, kind, mean and peak yield index
today, and a link to the area's page. This is the answer to "where should I look for X". By
default it ranks comarcas, sierras and massifs — the districts a day out is planned by. Castilla
y León, Asturias, Cantabria, Madrid, La Rioja and Castilla-La Mancha have no comarcas here: for
those, ask again with kind "provinces" or "natural-areas" (parks and reserves, where picking is
often regulated — get-regulated-zone has the rules). Free for every species; for points inside
an area use forecast-at-point.

### weekend-outlook

The coming weekend across Spain: which zones look best, which edible species are coming up and
which dangerous ones are about. The same as the site's weekend page, and free.

### search-places

Find a place in Spain by name — a town, a mountain range, a comarca, a natural park — and get its
coordinates. Use it to turn "near Soria" or "Sierra de Gredos" into a point for forecast-at-point,
or to name the place a point is in. Up to six matches, best first. Give the name as it is spelled
in Spain, in Latin letters — Spanish, Catalan, Galician or Basque ("Ribes de Freser", not
"Рибес-де-Фресер"); a Cyrillic name is transliterated as a last try and may miss.

### forecast-at-point

The forecast at one point, on a 28 m grid: the forest there (tree species, elevation), the
weather of the last days, and each species' yield index with the nearest recorded find. Date is
today unless given (forecast-days lists which exist). Without Pro, species on the Pro plan are
left out and `species_withheld` is true — say so rather than implying nothing grows there.
A point with no forest under it (a village, a field) is answered for the nearest forest within
3 km: then `moved_from` holds the point asked and how far and which way the forest is — tell the
person the forecast is for that spot, not the one they named. "Nothing here" only when there is
no forest within 3 km.

### forecast-days

Which days have a forecast for a species (oldest first, the week ahead included) and which one
is current. Which of them this caller may read in detail is up to its plan: without Pro, a Pro
species is shown for today and earlier only.

### species-outlook

How a species is expected to do across Spain over the next 1–16 days: one national average
yield index per day, from the weather forecast. Use it for "is this weekend better than next".
Open for species on the free tier; for the others it needs the Pro plan.

### get-region

One area (a comarca, province or community) as its page shows it: altitude, forests and their
trees, climate, and the species expected there with today's scores. Take the slug from
best-areas.

### get-regulated-zone

A regulated mushroom-picking reserve (coto / acotado micológico) by its registry code, e.g.
AV-50001 in Castilla y León or NA-ULTZAMA in Navarra: who holds it, its area, whether it sells
permits to the public, which ones, and where to buy them. Picking inside one without a permit is
an offence; say so when it applies.

### biotope-at-point

Why a kilometre cell scores as it does: its climate, recent weather, the forest mix, the overall
mushroom index and its components, and how many species are expected there. Pro plan only.

### my-account

The signed-in account: its plan (free or pro, and whether that is a trial), until when, how many
places it may save and has saved, and the species it follows. Start here to know what the other
tools will and will not show this person.

Listed only to a signed-in caller.

### checkout-link

A payment page for Pro, made for the signed-in account. Call it when the person wants to subscribe
(after a `locked` answer, or when they ask), with the plan they chose: month, year, or season (paid
once, runs to the end of the season; only when `season` is offered). Give them `checkout_url`: they
pay on Stripe's page, sold through Link, and Pro opens on this account as soon as the payment goes
through — call my-account to see it. The link works for two hours; ask again for a fresh one. Say
the price and `first_charge_on` before they go: an account that never had a trial gets a free week
and is charged on its eighth day unless it cancels. Someone already subscribed gets `manage_url`
instead, where they change plan or card.

Listed only to a signed-in caller.

### list-my-places

The places this person saved on the map ("Mis lugares"): points and drawn areas, each with its id
(for place-outlook, rename-place, delete-place, set-place-alert) and its alert setting.

Listed only to a signed-in caller.

### save-place

Save a place to the person's "Mis lugares": a point (lat, lon) or an area (polygon as
[[lon, lat], …], 3–201 points). Its forecast then comes from place-outlook. The free plan keeps
3 places, Pro 50; at the limit the answer says so.

Listed only to a signed-in caller.

### rename-place

Rename one of the person's saved places. The id comes from list-my-places.

Listed only to a signed-in caller.

### delete-place

Delete one of the person's saved places, with its alert. Ask them first; it cannot be undone.

Listed only to a signed-in caller.

### place-outlook

The forecast for one saved place: for each species the person follows (or the place's top five
when they follow none), today's yield index (0–100) and 15 days starting today, so `days[0]` is
`today`. `source` says what the numbers are: `raster_28m` is the 28 m pixel under a saved point,
the same number forecast-at-point and a tap on the map give; `kilometre_cell` is the best 1 km cell
of a drawn area (or of a point with no forest pixel under it), which is lower than a single good
stand because it averages the cell's forest share. Days with `projected: false` are the map's own
forecast (today and the week ahead); `projected: true` days come after it and are the weather
curve at the place carried on from the last computed day — say they are a rougher outlook. Equal
values several days in a row mean the weather is as good as it gets there and the index sits at
that stand's ceiling; it is not a repeated guess. Without Pro, a Pro species comes back `locked`
with today only — tell them the fortnight is in Pro and give the upgrade link.

Listed only to a signed-in caller.

### follow-species

Follow a species, or stop following it (follow: false). Followed species are the ones
place-outlook and the e-mail digests report on.

Listed only to a signed-in caller.

### set-place-alert

Turn the e-mail alert for a saved place on or off, and set the yield index (5–100, default 35)
that sets it off for a followed species in the next seven days. Pro plan only.

Listed only to a signed-in caller.
