Where to go mushroom hunting in Spain: events from 10 October to 21 November 2026

If you'd rather go mushroom hunting with a guide, or head to an exhibition or a festival instead of heading out blind, here is everything taking place from 10 October to 21 November in Castilla y León, Aragón, Cataluña and País Vasco. There are forest walks, exhibitions, a beginners' course and food days. If you're eyeing the Saturday outings in Salamanca, be quick: most of them are already full. You can see how things look for mushrooms in these areas on the map. Just bear in mind that it shows the MicoRadar model's estimate, not actual finds.

10–11 October: mycotour in Espejón, Soria

De Setas por Soria – Espejón 2026 – Micotour de Otoño is the autumn "mycotour" run by Asociación Montes de Soria, with two days of mycological events on Saturday and Sunday. Espejón is in the west of Soria province, near the border with Burgos. Everyone meets at the Salón La Hermandad, C/ Portugal, 66. ⁴

11 October: mushroom festival in Seva, Cataluña

On Sunday Seva holds the 28a edició de la FESTA DEL BOLET de SEVA, now in its 28th year. Expect a mushroom competition, performances, food stalls, tastings and exhibitions. The event is announced on the website of the Societat Catalana de Micologia, the Catalan Mycological Society. ⁹

17 October — 21 November: four of six Saturdays in Salamanca are already full

The autumn Jornadas Micológicas are six Saturdays in villages across the province:

• 17 October — Montemayor del Río;
• 24 October — El Cabaco, full;
• 31 October — Villasrubias;
• 7 November — Villanueva del Conde, full;
• 14 November — Santiz, full;
• 21 November — Peñausende, full.

Each day consists of a guided field outing, a cooking demonstration with tasting, and talks. Taking part is free, and insurance and guides are included, but you pay for your own travel to the venue. To pick mushrooms you need a picking permit. The field outing takes 50 people; the other sessions are open to everyone. You can sign up until 14:00 on the Friday before, and a separate form must be filled in for each person. ¹³

23 October — 15 November: three weekends of mushroom festival near Moncayo

The XXII Jornadas Micológicas de San Martín de la Virgen de Moncayo in Zaragoza province run on 23–25 October, 31 October – 2 November and 14–15 November. They are organised by the local mycological association, and the whole family can come: the programme is aimed at adults and children alike. There are mushroom-hunting outings, after which the finds are identified with mycologists, as well as workshops, talks, exhibitions, tastings, a market and concerts. The festival holds Interés Turístico de Aragón status, meaning it is officially recognised as being of tourist interest for Aragón. ⁷⁸

24 October: mycological days in Escorihuela

The calendar of Micoaragón, the Aragón government's website, lists Jornadas micológicas Escorihuela for this Saturday. ⁷

24 October: guided walk in El Pobo, Teruel

On the same day, a guided mushroom walk takes place in El Pobo, Teruel province: Paseo Micológico guiado. El Pobo (Teruel). ⁷

24–25 October: beginners' course in Hoyos del Espino, Ávila

If you want to learn about mushrooms from scratch, the Curso Básico de Micología 2026 from the society Amagredos is a good fit. It is an intensive course on mushrooms in general and costs €75. First you register by phone, using the number in the programme, or by email via the "Inscribirme" button, and then you pay. ⁶

24–29 October: outing, exhibition and talks in Getxo

Basozaleak, a mycological and botanical association from Getxo, goes out looking for species on 24 October, holds a mushroom exhibition on 25 October, and gives talks on mycology on 27 and 29 October. The association itself warns that dates and venues may change, for example because of the weather. ¹⁰

31 October — 15 November: mushroom menus across Castilla y León

At the 25th Buscasetas food days, restaurants, bars and cafés across the region serve mushroom menus, dishes and tapas. They are organised by the Castilla y León branch of the Euro-Toques chefs' association. ⁵
